One of the longest-established Riding Clubs in the UK (believed second only to Rugby's 70? years, but please tell us if you know otherwise !) which has evolved from a small Members Club to become a premier competition centre with excellent facilities catering for all disciplines at all levels from grass-roots to professional, centred around one of the largest indoor riding arenas in the country. The Riding Club is a charitably constituted non-profit voluntary Members' Club in BHS Area 5 affiliated to the British Riding Clubs, British Dressage, British Eventing, British Show Jumping Association and is also a Kennel Club registered venue, managed by a Committee of volunteers who rely heavily on the voluntary assistance of members for stewarding at events. MILESTONES * The Club was founded on 15th November 1943 at a 4-acre field in Whitefields Road, Solihull * In the 1960's the club moved to a 27-acre site behind houses in Tilehouse Green Lane, Knowle * A decade later that land was sold for development of a housing estate christened "The Ridings" * In 1972 the Club relocated to its present 220-acre site in Four Ashes Road, Bentley Heath * In 1995 we were the first Riding Club in the country to be granted a Sport England Lottery Award which enabled us to build the second indoor arena. * In 2003 we were approved by HMRC to register as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) REGULAR VISITORS Other organisations hiring our facilities for their own events include: * British Equestrian Federation * British Show Pony Society * British Water Fowl Association * Coloured Horse & Pony Society * Irish Draught Horse Society * Midland Arab Horse Society * Midland Association of Riding Clubs * Midland Driving Group * Midland Welsh Pony & Cob Society * National Pony Society * North and West Warwickshire Pony Clubs * Packington Dog Agility Club * Riding for the Disabled Association * Rugby Dog Club * Side-Saddle Association * Thimbleby & Shorland Carriage Auctions * Western Equestrian Society
